Tristan Rineer, Home Business Owner & EntrepreneurTristan Rineer, Master Marketing System, MMS, Prosperity Cast Network, PCN

Hello, and welcome to my home on the internet.  My name is Tristan Rineer and I currently live in Bluffton, South Carolina, which is about a 30 minute drive from Hilton Head Island. I have been working from home full time since December 2007, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.  My wife, Jacqueline Rineer, is also working from home full time with her web design company, Three Ten Seven.

I truly believe that the best decision anyone can make if they want to be financially independent and financially secure is the decision to own a home based business.  The reason for that belief is very simple.  Before I made the decision to work from home full time, I spent a good portion of my life searching for the JOB that was right for me, little did I realize what JOB actually stands for (hint: J.O.B. = Just Over Broke).  After years of trying to find the right JOB and constantly finding places that left me, you guessed it, Just Over Broke, I decided that it was time to stop letting my work make other people rich and start making money for myself.

But I’m getting ahead of myself.  Let me start from the beginning.

The Beginning

I got my first realJOB at 17, when I joined the Air National Guard.  I thought I was joining for college money, but almost six years later, I still haven’t gotten it.  My contract with the US Air Force will be up in May 2008, and I will be very happy to have my freedom back.  During the six years that I have been an Air National Guard member, I have had many other JOBs as well.  The first civilian job I got after joining the military was the generic cashier JOB, working at Home Depot.

While I was working at Home Depot, I decided that it would be a good idea to go to college so that I could get a degree and hopefully a JOB in a career field I would enjoy.  (I know what you’re thinking..  “Oh, so he’s got a degree, that’s how he’s able to make so much money from home”)  Wrong!  …And you will see why very soon, just bear with me here…  After 6 months at Home Depot, I realized that I wasn’t going to be able to keep going to school and follow the ridiculously irregular schedule inherent to retail, so I got another JOB as a security officer.  I was able to complete my first 2 semesters in college while working as a security officer, but I had no life to speak of.  I was working from midnight to 8 am at my security JOB, going home to sleep for 2 hours, then to school for class, with an hour or two between classes.  After class I would go to Starbucks to do my homework for an hour or two, which would immediately be followed by going home for a little more sleep before leaving for work again.

At the end of my second semester I discovered something that I found to be very disturbing.  Even though I was working so much that I had no time for life,

I still was running out of money.

I ended up having to give up on school because I just could not manage to go to school and pay all my bills at the same time.  The lack of money to live forced me to make a desperate decision.   I packed up everything I could afford to, and moved from Pennsylvania to South Carolina, leaving many things that I have often regretted not being able to keep.  After my move I tried many different JOBs, everything from driving for (and eventually managing) a Domino’s Pizza location, to installing DirecTV and home theater systems.  But none of the JOBs I tried were able to prevent me from running out of money.  After a JOB cleaning pools for a while, I decided to get my CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) and try driving concrete mixers.  Unfortunately for me, the company that I started driving for got bought out by another company that decided drivers were no longer going to be allowed overtime, yet again stopping, and reversing, the slow crawl towards positive cash-flow.

This was especially problematic, as I had just gotten married.

As a final effort, I decided to try one other concrete company where the owners offered me a position as a “trainee” mechanic.  Even that job ended up destroying my personal life.  My wife was constantly complaining that she felt like she was living with a stranger, because the only time that she got to see me was the hour or two between when I got home and when I fell asleep from exhaustion.  Working 70 to 80+ hours every week was destroying my life.  I was barely able to pay the bills, the physical labor involved in a construction-related job was destroying my body, and I was so physically and mentally exhausted that I couldn’t give my wife the attention she deserved, even on my days off (which were very rare).

In November of 2007 I started to realize that there had to be something better out there than working myself to death, just so that the owner of some company could get rich while I was struggling to pay my bills.  That was when I began looking for a viable home business opportunity that I could use to get myself out of debt and finally reach a point of financial freedom.  Unfortunately, it wasn’t until December of 2007 that I finally found a business that I could be successful in, and that was due primarily to an amazing team of individuals with amazing backgrounds an experience.  My final thought of 2007, and first thought of 2008, was

the decision that changed my life for the better.

I decided that it was “now or never,” “sink or swim,” and whatever other “do or die” phrases may come to mind.  I decided that it was time to quit my JOB and work from home full-time.  I didn’t know if I was going to be successful or not, but anything was better than what I had experienced so far throughout my life.  Immediately after leaving my last JOB I began the business-building process which I now train others to utilize.  Having worked from home for just over 3 months, I can honestly say that the decision to fire my boss was the best financial decision I have ever made.

I am now a specialist in Web 2.0 Marketing, Free Online Lead Generation, Home Business Promotion, and Business Training and Mentorship.  I can finally say that I am my own boss, because I work from home full time, offering my training to all who are interested.  I also host a Home Business Tips & Tricks podcast, and I post the transcripts for the podcast episodes on the Home Business Tips & Tricks page of this site.
